I've been into serious running for the past two years and joining 10km competition. This Sunday will mark my very first Half Marathon! Darn excited just thinking of it, it feels as much thrill like how it did during the first 10k run. I'm targeting a 6.3min/km pace for the first 10k and subsequently at 6min/km for the rest of 11k. My competitive pace for 10k is at 5.5min/km. Really hoping the weather will be good especially without any haze. It's been quite bad this couple of weeks here in Klang Valley due to the lack of rain.
The latest news from the organizer is that there is a possibility the marathon might be cancel if the haze doesn't improve by Sunday morning. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a go ahead!
Brooks marathon was given a go ahead this morning.
Today I didn’t managed to complete my first half marathon, at the 13km mark I suffered Popliteus Tendinitis more commonly known as injury to the area at the back of the knee. I was already running at 6.10min/km pace and felt good to give it a go after 10km but unfortunately couldn’t. Now I will be following up with chiropractor and could face up to two months without running. Determined to come back stronger and make my mark in HM.
