Mr & Ms Cafe Oasis Square

Cafe serving coffee, brunch and cakes seems to be the hit thing, the queue says it all about this newly established cafe. If you’re there during the noon with a long queue ahead, do proceed inside where they have a sofa to lounge around.

Have some laughter, coffee and good food!

Moustache anyone?

Ordered additional baked beans to load up on protein, but found the beans to be under cooked. There’s a good herb taste to it. RM4.00

Ham & Mushroom Scrambled Eggs RM15.90. I think they’ve added too much butter to the eggs, otherwise it’s a solid meal.

Great presentation for ‘Toppers’. Again, they should use less butter for the eggs and probably add more avocado mash to it. RM15.90.

We tried their tea and orange juice. Both were decent but I believe the coffee would be a better choice if you’re avid coffee drinker since the tea lack the oomph. I would give them a rating of 7/10.

  • Antipodean Cafe Bangsar (second visit)

What’s with the KL highway this past few weeks? We were heading down to try out Acme bar but instead got caught in heavy traffic that seems worst than working hours. Our brunch plan wouldn’t just go down the drain, so we headed to Bangsar and had a revisit to Antipodean.

Staff are as efficient as the first visit and the menu is still clearly written against a board. We decided to give our tastebud a new try with Butterscotch banana pancake and All day breakfast.

Pancake didn’t had much taste to it so the butterscotch is a must. We were expecting a heavier hint of banana flavour to it.

You get a huge serving of baked beans, scrambled eggs, toast, grilled tomato, topped with the not crunchy but tasty bacon.

Overall still a great place to hangout, have a great meal and aromatic coffee. We’ll be back.

    Valentine Dinner Cafe Cafe KL

It’s amazing that both the official Valentine day and Chinese Valentine fell on the same day this year. It only happens once every 19 years. We’ve been to Cafe Cafe numerous times, truth saying this is my favourite special occasion place. I just enjoy the soothing and dark environment that the place has. I would say the waiters are well trained in a manner that they are not overly robotic and definitely attentive. Some of the reviews that I’ve read over the internet mentioned the place could get  noisy because of the narrow seating position, the restaurant ain’t that big but they do have reserved group dining at the top floor. I’ve always called in advance to reserve and my favourite spot is table 11 which is located at the middle of the restaurant because it feels more private whereas you’ll find bigger groups seated nearer to the main entrance. The only downside being that one party will be facing the toilet (thankfully you’ll not be too near it).

The pictures below are the dishes we ordered this time around but I would recommend this dishes that we’ve tried over the course of 2 years:
    > Chicken breast..if you’re on the lean and protein side (those weight watches will appreciate it)
    > Escargots in Ratatouilles..because the butter and garlic really teases the tastebud
    > Grilled prawn..the other half’s favourite
    > Fettuccine with scented truffles and roasted macadamia..well it’s my favourite
    > Duck confit..top down crispy you’ll love it
    > Tiramisu..best I’ve tried in KL with a hint of kahlua and brandy.. you ain’t getting drunk
    > Chocolate cake with ice cream..come on, it’s a sin to hate this

    Classic interior..got that French feeling?
    Seating for two

They’ve vastly improved their bread, warm and soft. Even the butter is now soft, it used to be hard as rock.

French onion soup, too much cheese for a serving but love the sweetness of the onions.

This is one of the highlight of the night, you can really taste and truffle and crunchiness of the prawns.

The other half favourite grilled prawns.

    My favourite truffled fettuccine.

Lemon tart..only so so, just look at that three tiny dot..not enough for me.

Top notch Tiramisu..the serving size seems to be getting smaller each passing day.
