Rocket Coffee Bar Sukhumvit s49

Here is to a great day ahead
We made a visit to this chic looking cafe which is located at Sukhumvit soi 49. Now you can get there easily with a taxi because it's not far off from main Sukhumvit area/Siam/Pratunam, but the best way for the active is to hop on the BTS, alight at Phrom Phong and take a short walk of 1.4km (now you see we do like our self exploration). Along the way you get to take in the houses/condos that you wouldn't normally see in main Bangkok city area. I highly suggest you grab some street vendor fruits or a bottle of water to fight off the heat. I'm gonna attach below the route that will best get you there on foot. If walking isn't your kind of activity, then you can even opt for a motorcycle taxi. Normally I wouldn't recommend it by looking at how busy and dangerous Bangkok road can get but this area has less cars going around.

So we got there around 11 in the morning and darn I was really needing a good kickstart to the day *thinking of coffee and some eggs. But you know it's really funny the first thing we had to do was not ordering but took some pictures of the cafe because the settings was really great. Have a look below...

We had americano and latte for our drinks, food wise were scrambled eggs, mazarin and cinnamon bread. I would rate their latte as good, it was smooth and velvety. The americano was alright and it's standard was at par with many other well known coffee shops. No doubt I will head there again during my next trip to BKK, just take note they have two more branches at Sathorn soi 12 and Central Embassy.

Valentine wow 7 years and counting

Brought her to our favourite French restaurant, the one we always dated from way back when we first met! They had a fix set of menu which you still get to choose from two starters and three main dishes. The deco was amazingly simple yet it made the place lit up for this special occasion. We're planning to head back there again for our yearly anni!

 Yeah the balloons!
We were there early at 6.30 and by 7 the whole place was pack
This time around the rolls were crazy delicious.

The prawns were huge but slightly undercooked, complaint but got no feedback from the chef...hmmm..improvement needed here!

The beef cheek was another amazing dish, oh how I wish it were much bigger~

Lots of truffle flavour with this dessert and I've always had a liking with their chocolate cake.

Come to think about it, it does feel crappy if you don't have the other half to celebrate V's. But this day should not be only for couples, all the singles, young and old.. families..whoever should enjoy this day, either with loved ones and friends. Happy Valentine's 2015.

Kissaten Cafe & Restaurant Setia Alam

What a rainy night and it's Friday night, so here we are again at Setia city mall!

We decided to give Kissaten a try since it's newly renovated (much bigger now). Previously the cafe was facing only the outside of the mall, now you've two entrance which is from inside the mall and out. The interior/deco looks very cosy..my type of cafe to spend the evening.

They have variety of choices from sushi, katsudon, pastas to pizza..you heard me right.. a pizza in a japanese restaurant. Darn they're delicious, we had chicken teriyaki with half boiled egg pizza and a Katsudon (porky). We'll be back to try other dishes like hotpot and pastas.

Fixing Lens Problem

A before and after photo below. The first was taken at an awkward angle causing major distortion to the photo. With some CS6 editing, the second photo produced a better result.

Penang getaway & marathon

This turn out to be a short weekend getaway and also our yearly 10k run at Penang bridge international marathon. The main area that we explored this time around was the famous heritage city, now renowned as part of UNESCO heritage city program.  George town was a perfect place to spend at least half a day with it's beautiful buildings and marvelous cafes. We did our 10k early next morning with over 62000 participants which made it felt cramp while running. It was held at Penang second bridge and I must say it's an honor to be the very first group of runners to have ran there.
